All the students involved in this violation of the code of academic conduct will be sent to disciplinary action.
Instructions
This exam is three hours long. Once you click Start Quiz, you are required to complete and submit your exam.
This is your hands-on exam. You will be asked to apply some of the features we have already covered for eight weeks. Make sure that you do not skip any of the steps and that you save the files inside the folder using the SAME names as posted on the exam instructions.
Please take your time to review your exam. Most students get penalties for not applying the correct number formatting, spelling errors, or not applying some of the features. You have been given plenty of time to complete this exam. You have THREE hours to complete this exam.
Important: When you click the Start Quiz button to start the exam, your time will also start. You will be asked to click on a link to open your exam instructions. Once you do that, you must minimize this window to work on your exam. You should spend only one hour working on your exam and two hours submitting the exam in case you have a problem.
How can I submit my exam?
- Make sure that you close the PowerPoint program after you save the exam.
- Now, you will see at the bottom of the page the button called Choose a File below the section where you had the instructions.
- You can attach your ZIP folder by clicking on the Choose File to search for the ZIP folder on your computer.
- Once you locate your ZIP folder, click on it.
- The name of the ZIP folder that you are trying to attach will be displayed next to the Browse button.
- Now, all you need to do is to click on the Submit button to finalize the exam. If you do not click on the submit button, the ZIP folder will NOT be attached, and you will automatically get zero on the exam.
- If you happen to get back to this page and do not see the Choose a File button to attach the ZIP folder after you completed all the steps, you can always refresh this window to see if you can get the Choose a File button again. If you got to log out, you might need to log in again to get to the page. Canvas could take you out due to inactivity. However, your exam will still be running even if you closed the browser.
- If you can't submit the exam, do not worry, just send the exam ZIP folder through Canvas Inbox. I will be able to calculate the time from your Canvas Inbox submission. As posted on the syllabus, I am going by the submission time, not by completing your exam. Nobody is exempt from this policy. I will not accept any computer issues exception either. Before taking this exam, students have to use a computer that is working fully with a reliable Internet connection. Students can even use their own phone WiFi just to upload the file. It will take less than a minute to do that.
- You need to check, check, and double-check that you submitted the files you need for this exam. That is your responsibility. The instructor will not do that for you.
- If you are not sure that you submit the ZIP folder, you can send another copy of the ZIP folder right away through Canvas Inbox. That will be only if you are not sure if you submitted the exam ZIP folder.
Can you resubmit a file?
You can resubmit the ZIP folder as long as it is still within your time. If you attach the ZIP folder late, you need to read the policy on late submission. Also, I will not accept any LATE file submission over three hours.
Late Submission:
You will be able to submit the ZIP folder using the Canvas Inbox or the comment section if you do not have access to the Choose file button. Use the SMC email only if Canvas is down.
There is a penalty for any late submission exams regardless of the situation. Students are required to start their exam in an area that they are free of distraction and using a working computer with Internet connections at all times. Therefore, if the exam files are late, there will be a penalty of 5-points for each beginning hour, whether the file is one minute late or one hour late. Therefore, if you are already late, use your hour to review the exam since you will end up getting the same penalty.
Grading:
This exam is graded manually. If you see no score when you submit the ZIP folder, that is normal since the exam will not be graded until the exam is closed.
There is no makeup exam for Exam 2. Please read the exam policy posted on the syllabus.
When you are ready to start your exam, please click on the Start Quiz button to get the link with the file I am providing to you and your exam instructions.
